SOLO SYSTEM UPDATES
The Dictionary of Self-Knowledge Management
The term Self-Knowledge Management (SKM) was coined by Joshua and Veronika Bond in the year 2001. The name refers to the discipline that springs naturally out of the Solo System.
The word discipline is used here in 2 ways: A as a field of enquiry, and B as a practical workout program for your Consciousness.
The practical Discipline of Self-Knowledge Management means basically harvesting self-knowledge from subjective experiences in everyday life, and then managing this information in such a way, that it adds up to something useful.
Self-Knowledge Management has some resemblance with the activities of the ancient philosophers who thought, talked and wrote about important human questions, such as:
Is there a substance that all life is made from?
Who am I, and how do I recognise that my assumptions are true?
Does life have any meaning at all?
Why are we humans so unhappy a lot of the time, despite striving for happiness, like forever? etc.
Self-Knowledge Management is a practical, creative, and user-friendly discipline for contemporary life.
SKM is a gentle discipline that relates to everyday life. It’s not just a mental training either, but rather includes all Faculties of human Consciousness*, which has many advantages
(*You don’t know what a Faculty of human Consciousness is? This is one of many terms defined in the Dictionary of Self-Knowledge Management.)
Self-Knowledge Management offers many opportunities to discover your own answers to the deeper questions of life within the inner space of your own subjective experience. Moreover, you can integrate those answers straight away into your life, so that they don’t just expand your Consciousness in an abstract way, but so that they really make a difference to your world one step at a time — in a good way of course.
The Dictionary of Self-Knowledge Management is an ongoing project. The wordlist currently includes the glossary of Volume I of the Solo System, The Atlas, as well as some terms used in the articles on the following websites: innerjourneyproject.com/blog and selfknowledgemanagement.org/articles.
Interested readers are welcome to participate in this project. If you stumble over a word that isn’t clear to you as you read one of the articles — or one of the Solo System books — then you can send us a message, and we will explain the word as soon as possible in the Dictionary.

In ancient Sanskrit there are three words related to the concept of being: the first one, asus means life, breath, spirit; the second one bhu, bhavati carries the meaning to become, come into being, grow; the third one vasati means to dwell, remain, stay. The verb form is may stem from the Sanskrit asus and bears resemblance with the Latin esse. The connection with the Sanskrit bhu can be recognised in the infinitive form be. In common contemporary English use the verb to be refers to the existence, occurrence or continuation of a living creature or object. It can express being, becoming and belonging. As an interesting side note, the prefix be-, which is used to form verbs such as belong, become, befriend, believe, beget etc. expresses an infusion of the qualities of being into the verb attached to it.)

In ancient Rome a genius was a protective spirit who guided individuals or families through life and shared their joys and sorrows.)
Growth: /Wachstum/ Principle governing the Intuition. The Principle of Growth states that every living organism develops from an immature state into its mature form. Immature aspects are commonly perceived as ‘unfinished’ or ‘imperfect’ and therefore negative, while the mature form is perceived as positive. This Principle implies that Growth is a cyclical process moving through natural stages of development.
Harmony: /Harmonie/ Power of the Instinct. The Power of Harmony refers to the relationship between individual human Consciousness and its environment as well as the internal balance of all aspects in the human microcosm. The Inspiration is the Faculty that gives humans the capacity to connect with a higher level of knowledge and receive insights from there. This ability has been known to humans since ancient times, and it is primarily used by artists, poets, philosophers and mystics. Used in this sense the Latin term for inspiration is afflatus. Afflatus was understood as receiving a divine breath. (From Latin inspiro, literally meaning to breathe in.) See also Intuition
Instinct: /Instinkt/ The 6th Faculty of human Consciousness in the Solo System. Autonomous, feminine Faculty. Consciousness of vibration, harmony, and sensitivity; title: Inner Healer. The Instinct is the Faculty that gives humans the natural drives at the level of Feelings. Intellect: /Intellekt/ The 7th Faculty of human Consciousness in the Solo System. Voluntary, masculine Faculty. Consciousness of polarity, logic, and comprehension; title: Inner Expert. The Intellect lends the capacity of thinking, understanding, and discernment to the organism of human Consciousness. Historically the term intellect has been used synonymous with rationality, sensibility, mind, and even consciousness. This use is a great challenge for the Intellect, because the Inner Expert relies on the contributions of the other Faculties, in order to keep his level of understanding continuously up-to-date. (From Latin intellego, meaning to perceive, discern, understand, grasp, notice, recognise, comprehend.)
Intimate Mood: /Intime Stimmung/ Mood of the Intuition. The Intimate Mood is an atmosphere of privacy, confidentiality and requires complete trust. (From Latin intimus, meaning innermost, deep, profound, familiar, confidential, being close friends with.)

The Intuition provides human Consciousness with the gift of being able to grasp complex issues without having to go through the lengthy digestive process of the Intellect. The Intuition has been known as an ‘opponent’ of the Intellect for a long time. She is often assigned to the so-called ‘subconscious’ and sometimes referred to as ‘gut-feeling’ and associated with the solar plexus. The Intuition is often confused with the Instinct. (In the Solosystem both are autonomous feminine Faculties, and therefore there is a close relationship between them.) Another frequent confusion is made between Intuition and Inspiration. The Intuition relies on belief, trust and inexplicable knowing, whereas the Instinct produces Feelings and Emotions. The Intuition receives insights in relation to important decisions, and she can spontaneously assess people and situations (her assessments and decisions are not always accurate!) In contrast to the Intuition the Inspiration receives revelations related to new discoveries, creative projects, dormant potential etc. The Inspiration discovers new territory, while the Intuition has the task to navigate through familiar teritory and protect her owner from danger. (From Latin intueor, meaning to look at, observe, watch, admire, consider.) See also Instinct and Inspiration.

Affinity is a rapport between two separate entities. (From Latin finis meaning border, barrier, fence, limit, end, aim, objective; area, zone, piece of land. The prefix ad- means to, towards, on, at. The Latin word affinis means adjacent, bordering on, adjoining, neighbouring; entangled, involved, participating, affected by; related by marriage.)

Law of Emergence: /Gesetz der Emergenz/ Law enforced by the Body. The Law of Emergence implies that all phenomena in human life emerge from the depths of Consciousness in the present moment. The Law of Emergence enables us to engage with the physical experience one step at a time and receive the information presented to us on a need to know basis. (From Latin mergo meaning to dip, immerse, sink, bury, plunge, drown. With the prefix e it becomes emergo and means to rise, emerge, get clear, become evident.)
Law of Magnetism: /Gesetz des Magnetismus/ Law enforced by the Intuition. The Law of Magnetism implies that every living organism generates a magnetic field. The magnetic field of a Cell of individual human Consciousness consists of four main aspects: belief, subjective experience, attitude, and objective event. (From Magnesia an area on the eastern coast of Greece where according to legend the first magnet was discovered.)
Law of Possession: /Gesetz des Eigentums/ Law enforced by the Instinct. The Law of Possession implies that human beings have the right and the duty to claim anything that is their rightful property by nature. The emotional Property is part of that. The Law of Possession enables humans to take ownership of their experience rather than being dominated by it. (Possession is a combination of two Latin terms potis, meaning wealthy, powerful and sedeo, meaning to sit, stay, remain; adhere, be stuck; to meet in council. In its original sense possession is literally the power to hold onto something.)
Law of Progression: /Gesetz des Fortschreitens/ Law enforced by the Inspiration. This universal Law states that every living organism has to progress on its evolutionary path. Human Consciousness naturally progresses from its current dualistic state and ultimately towards the unity of absolute Consciousness. The Law of Progression refers to the progress arising out of the interplay of opposites. (From Latin gradus, meaning step, stage, rung, position, degree, grade. The prefix pro- can mean for, before, forward, towards, in exchange, instead, in relation to, ahead, on top, as a reward, in payment for, due to. The Latin verb progredior means to walk forward, advance, move ahead, grow, increase, rise, progress, make headway.)
Law of Responsibility: /Gesetz der Verantwortlichkeit/ Law enforced by the Imagination. The Law of Responsibility implies that human beings have the ability to provide sponsorship for their own experience on an ongoing basis. (From Latin respondeo, meaning to agree, to make a counter promise; to respond, answer, reply; give notice, advise. The root spondeo means to make a pledge, take a vow, make a solemn promise. The prefix re- implies doing something in return or doing something repeatedly).
Law: /Gesetz/Category of Autonomous Properties provided by the Body. In the Solo System all Laws are considered to be universally applicable rules. Each Law is enforced by one Faculty. The eight Laws of the Solo System can be read as a code of law for the whole human microcosm.
